Faridabad district is one of the 21 districts of the Indian state of Haryana with Faridabad city the district headquarters. The Delhi-Mathura National Highway passes through the centre of the district, which occupies an area of 2,151 square kilometres. This district is part of Gurgaon Division and consists of Faridabad and Ballabhgarh. Haryana government has created a new Faridabad division which would cover the districts Faridabad, Nuh and Palwal. It was the most populous district of Haryana.

By Road: Faridabad is well connected with Delhi through Delhi Faridabad Skyway. By Train: Faridabad is on the broad gauge of the New Delhi - Mumbai Line. New Delhi and Hazrat Nizammudin Railway Station is about 25 km away from Old Faridabad railway station. The trains for big cities like Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad are easily accessible from here. By Air: Faridabad is served by Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi which is around 35 km from Faridabad. The airport is one of the busiest airports in India and provides domestic and international air connectivity.
