Legislative Assembly

Legislative Assembly was built by sixth Nizam of Hyderabad, Mis Mahboob Ali Khan in the Year 1913 which has taken eight years to complete this building and is located in Hyderabad. The architectural style of the building represents Persian and Rajasthani.

The people chosen for the construction of this building are selected based on their skills and white colour was selected for the building for aesthetic, classical look. It has become one of the greatest monuments of Hyderabad after its construction. In the year 1956, after the formation of the state of Andhra Pradesh the monument has become the Legislative Assembly of Andhra Pradesh. Later in the year 1980 the new assembly building was constructed same as old assembly building for hosting the legislative offices of the ministers and political parties.

The Assembly building in public gardens is in the centre of Hyderabad city where 295 MLA’s including one Member nominated from Anglo-Indian Community comes here for assembly sessions and the bills are passed here. Speaker is considered as the head of the house. It is considered as seat of the state legislature of Andhra Pradesh and a place of power of the state’s laws and legislation. As it is famous for its designation named assembly and has also become the one of Hyderabad’s most majestic buildings. It has also become the tourist place in Hyderabad.

There is a Mahatma Gandhi statue in front of Assembly building which is 22 foot tall in the meditating position with the words written as “My Life is My Message”. Representing members of assembly to follow the Mahatma Gandhi’s ideals. Assembly is decorated by gardens which show beautiful and attractive view.
