Papi Hills

It is a hill range located in the West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh. This place is popularly known as Papi Kondalu. These hills divide the Godavari River into two paths. This hill region is spread over 3 districts namely Khammam, East Godavari and West Godavari.

The peaceful atmosphere away from hectic city life filled with soothing atmosphere provides special excitement to the tourists. The waterfall of Munivaatam located near Papi Hills is also a great attraction for tourists. There is also an old idol of Lord Shiva installed under the shade of a serpent situated at Munivaatam. It is a religious attraction near the hills as Sabari River joins with Godavari River at this place only.

    APSRTC and other private travels operate regular bus services to Rajahmundry from the major cities of the state. To reach Papi Hills, it is best to hire a taxi from Rajahmundry. The most preferred route to Papi Hills is from Bhadrachalam town through a cruise or motor boat. The journey through the cruise is enthralling and makes one capture the scenic beauty all along the beautiful route.

    Nearest railway station is at Rajahmundry, 65 km away and is well linked with major cities of India. It lies on Howrah-Chennai rail route.
